This unknown Fuel truck no. Z1722028 was photographed at the Marshall museum, Overloon, The Netherlands. Does anyone know who the manufactorer / type this is? See picture #1496 also.
It is a Morris Commercial C8 4X4 GS, can be even the '43 model. I would agree that due to it size it would rather be a water truck than a fuel truck, although they were used in various roles from field artillery tractors to personnel carriers. About 10,000 of them were build by Morris Commercial Cars Ltd throughout WW2. They were also used during the Korean War.
Hi, this is definitely a Morris Commercial C8 4X4. I have a "Repair Aids for Service Vehicles" book which was produced by Morris Commercial that has diagrams of the chassis of various models
It is of course a Morris C8 and of course British made, look at the oil drip tray under the engine. Did we ever make anything that did not leak oil. Lovely little truck though.
