DAF six wheeler

YA 328 nicknamed 'Dikke Daf', The Netherlands 2005.

Editor: It's nickname stems from the engine noise (Hercules engine) and its appearance, it means 'Fat Daf'. The YA-328 (along with the 318) was DAF's first military vehicle to be built after the 2nd WW. Several thousand of this type were eventually built by the Dutch company between 1953 and 1958.

Six-wheel drive(not 8), airbrakes, NO powersteering, 5-speed crash-box plus HI-LO.About 150 horses at 2800 rpm, gasoline 6-cyl.sidevalve.Every drive wheel had a worm-gear box attached.Lots of drive shafts needed.Torsion bar frontwheel suspension, (just like old VW Beetle).Rear axle has leafsprings.Makes for a bad boy, when loaded to the max.and off-roading!!!.
