T-34/76The upgraded version of the BT-7 (see
picture #2827) was called T-34 to commemorate the 1934 state degree, ordering a massive expansion in Soviet tank forces. The T34-76 came in several models and was developed as the Russian answer to the German tanks in the early days of World War II. Because of the superiority of the T34-76, the Germans were forced to build better tanks like the Tiger I and Panther. This in turn forced the Russians to build improved T34-85.
See
picture #1807 for info on the T34/85.
